Oscar 2018 despite trying to "color bold" but the winner is still very white

While Oscar nominations have been more open to whites, white are still the official figures for the home.

Over the years, the most prestigious film awards in the world have met with countless criticism as the priority of people of color. The #OscarSoWhite boycott of 2014, 2015 is the clearest example. This year's Oscars have been "black" over, but the winners are the same.

Jordan Peele was nominated for the Academy Award for her role in the critically acclaimed black screen. Mexican-born filmmakers can be proud of the triumphs of Guillermo del Toro and Coco (2017). Former Black NBA player Kobe Bryant has a gold statue with the cartoon "Dear Basketball" (2017).

Still, we still expect the first black Oscar winner or the second woman to win the category. The fact that most of the winners at this year's awards are still white. That's what a pair of dark-skinned comedians Maya Rudolph and Tiffany Haddish reminded the audience when they announced their Best Short Film category.

According to them, #OscarSoWhite has made this change a lot. However, it has been suggested that Oscar is made up of too many people of color. The duo pointed out that the number of white people attending the party was not only higher than in the audience, but also in the majority of the wings.



Caucasians play a key role in organizing the awards ceremony. They decide who is invited, who will not appear or who will be the winner. Tiffany Haddish did not like the white guys holding the tablet in the back of the chicken because they did not know what they would write about themselves.

Looking at the 20 names in the four categories of acting, only four blacks, including Daniel Kaluuya, Denzel Washington, Mary J. Blige and Octavia Spencer (20%). None of them brought the gold statue home.

It seems Hollywood's improvement is just "yes"! We still have to wait for the next Oscar season to see if the movie industry really changes.
